Hackers have created waves by making Siri run on older Apple devices. A how-to video guide is circulating online, promising Siri on the iPhone 4…

Probably every Apple user with a device older than the iPhone 4S wants to get his hands on Siri. Hackers have now made that possible, at least for those who own the iPhone 4 and the iPod touch 4G. What’s more, they have even shared the software required to make the import online on techerra.

The iOS hackers have successfully been able to make Apple’s voice activated assistant work on the older devices without too many issues. Their how-to video guides other users who want to use Siri but do not want to go in for the latest iPhone. Apparently, a number of enthusiasts have already made use of the video since it was uploaded 2 days ago.

Of course, it has to be remembered that such a feat involves jailbreaking a device and unlocking it before proceeding to import Siri. People unfamiliar with the process would do well to familiarize themselves with the technicalities and intricacies involved.

Some users who have tried to load Siri on their phones and iPods have reported problems with the camera once Siri was on board. But the hackers have been a step ahead and have found a solution to this issue as well. A fix for the camera problem is now online, along with a video that shows off Siri in action on the iPhone 4.

The iOS hackers’ efforts are quite commendable. In fact, Apple will do well to hire them as developers. Meanwhile, maybe Apple should listen to the masses and make Siri available for all of Apple’s iDevices, officially.
